Role Overview The
Senior Representative, Regional Sales
(RSR) plays a critical role in driving new business development and building strong customer relationships within the assigned region. This remote position requires up to 70% travel within the territory and focuses on identifying, engaging, and securing new accounts while supporting and growing existing relationships to achieve sales targets.
Duties & Responsibilities New Business Development
Identify, qualify, and engage potential customers within the assigned region to establish new accounts.
Coordinate with Sales Leadership to implement strategic plans to penetrate new markets and industries.
Conduct prospecting activities, including cold calls, networking events, trade shows, and targeted outreach campaigns.
Present Brother Gearmotor solutions to prospective customers, highlighting value propositions and tailoring offerings to meet customer needs.
Negotiate and close new business deals to achieve growth objectives.
Account Management and Growth
Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing customers to increase sales opportunities and maximize revenue potential.
Conduct regular account reviews to understand customer needs and identify upselling or cross‑selling opportunities.
Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and addressing any issues promptly.
Collaborate with internal teams to provide solutions, manage order fulfillment, and resolve service‑related concerns.
Administrative and Reporting Responsibilities
Maintain accurate records of all sales activities, customer interactions, and opportunities in CRM tools like Salesforce.
Submit timely and accurate reports, including weekly progress updates and expense reports.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
Sales Strategy and Planning
In collaboration with Sales Leadership, develop and execute a comprehensive regional sales plan to meet or exceed quota.
Monitor sales performance metrics and adjust strategies to optimize results.
Prepare and present detailed forecasts, pipeline reports, and territory updates to leadership.
Collaboration with Internal Teams
Partner with Marketing to support lead generation efforts and execute targeted campaigns.
Work closely with Customer Service, Engineering, and Operations to ensure seamless customer onboarding and support.
Provide feedback to Product Development teams to enhance offerings based on customer needs and market demand.
Experience & Qualifications Education
Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field preferred.
Experience
Minimum 5 years of combined relevant experience spanning: outside sales, managing sales accounts, driving sales objectives for a wide product portfolio, identifying opportunities for sales growth & closing new accounts, and supporting sales from a subject‑matter‑expert role with direct customer engagement.
Software/Technical Skills
Knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, preferably Salesforce - Preferred.
Knowledge of the power transmission industry & related mechanical technologies - Preferred.
Other Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
Effective communication skills (verbal, written, interpersonal).
Ability to influence and negotiate with customers.
Ability to build and deliver effective sales presentations to customers.
Ability to build relationships within and outside of the organization.
Additional Details for This Role Remote field‑based role; no fixed office schedule. The defined sales territory is the West Territory. Travel expected up to 50% of the time, averaging 6‑8 trips per quarter, dependent on business need.
Base Salary
The targeted base salary range for this position is $70k‑$85k per year, determined by education, experience, KSA, internal equity, cost of labor, and market data.
Additional Compensation
Eligible for $30,000 annual sales bonus at 100% of target, with opportunity for >100% based on performance and alignment with company plans.
Eligible for a 2.83% bonus at 100% of target, with opportunity for >100% based on company performance.
Bonus awards discretionary and contingent on individual performance and Brother’s corporate objectives, in accordance with the applicable bonus plan.
Eligible for a monthly auto allowance for business commuting, in addition to mileage reimbursement and other travel expenses per policy.
