General Purpose The Parts Sales Representative II actively drives parts sales by developing strong customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and delivering exceptional service both in-store and at customer locations. The Parts Sales Representative II is exempt and eligible for sales commission.

Essential Functions To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Proactively sell parts to AVE-PLP customers through direct outreach, both in-store and on-site.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to drive repeat business and long‑term loyalty.

Identify and pursue sales opportunities, including upselling and cross‑selling relevant parts and accessories.

Accurately process sales transactions and maintain records of all customer interactions.

Market parts and service sales such as extended warranties, maintenance plans, machine inspections, overhauls, standard job quotes, and special parts promotions.

Identify all aftermarket and new sales opportunities and communicate lead information accordingly.

Perform follow‑up calls at customer locations on complete goods and major parts and service.

Address customer concerns and resolve problems effectively and satisfactorily.

Continuously seek ways to improve sales strategies, customer engagement, and operational efficiency.

Perform other duties as needed to contribute to AVE-PLP’s success.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to consistently promote, support, work, and act in a manner in support of AVE‑PLP’s DNA.

Passion for outside sales and a proactive approach to identifying and pursuing new opportunities.

Knowledge of parts merchandising, sales techniques, and customer engagement strategies.

Basic understanding of financial management as it applies to the Parts Department.

Strong ability to build and maintain professional relationships with customers, colleagues, and management.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills for in‑person, phone, and email interactions.

Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and online business tools for sales tracking and inventory management.

Education

High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) equivalent is required.

Experience

One year of customer service experience is preferred.

Previous merchandising and parts sales experience is preferred.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.

Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications

Must have reliable transportation.

Must have a valid driver’s license.

Passing a driving record (MVR), criminal history background checks, employment verification, and drug screen will be required prior to the start of employment.

Forklift license preferred or ability to obtain one.

Occasional outdoor work in extreme weather conditions (hot/cold); walking on uneven terrain; occasional exposure to insects.

Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and vibration.

The noise level in the work environment is moderate.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required including cold weather gear, eye protection, gloves, and provided uniform.

A clean and safety‑conscientious working environment is required.

Work may involve long hours and overtime during holidays, weekends, and evenings.

Required to rotate on‑call responsibilities for up to one week at a time.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.

May involve climbing ladders, stairs, steps, and traversing catwalk grating, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, and kneeling on a frequent basis and working in confined space and manual dexterity required to complete work tasks through safe and proper operation of power and hand tools, and motor vehicles.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Moving, positioning, and carrying loads of up to 5 pounds upstairs and loading on four‑foot‑high surfaces frequently.

Moderate physical work involving lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects up to 50 pounds frequently and 75 pounds occasionally.
