Position Overview
The Outreach Coordinator plays a vital role in advancing the mission of The Healing Place by building strong relationships with alumni, volunteers, community partners, and referral agencies. This position is responsible for coordinating outreach initiatives, managing events and volunteer activities, and fostering engagement with community stakeholders such as healthcare providers, hospitals, and county agencies seeking placement for residents. The ideal candidate is compassionate, organized, and comfortable working with people from all backgrounds. Basic marketing and communication skills are preferred to support outreach and awareness efforts.
Key Responsibilities Alumni Outreach & Engagement
Maintain ongoing communication with alumni to foster long-term relationships and encourage continued involvement.
Organize alumni activities, reunions, and engagement opportunities.
Track alumni participation, maintain updated contact information, and gather stories for marketing and fundraising efforts.
Volunteer Coordination
Recruit, onboard, and support volunteers for program needs, events, and special projects.
Manage volunteer schedules, training, and communication.
Develop systems to recognize and appreciate volunteer contributions.
Event Planning & Management
Support the planning of events including fundraisers, community outreach events, campus gatherings, and mission spotlights.
Help book venues, manage timelines, coordinate logistics, and work closely with staff and external partners.
Support event promotion through marketing materials, social media, and community outreach.
Community Engagement
Cultivate and maintain relationships with community partners, including providers, hospitals, and county agencies seeking placement for their residents.
Serve as a point of contact for referral sources and ensure timely communication and support.
Represent The Healing Place at community meetings, resource fairs, and partner events.
Marketing & Communications Support
Assist with creating marketing content for outreach, including flyers, social media posts, and newsletters.
Help maintain brand consistency across outreach materials and public-facing communications.
Collaborate with development and communications teams to share impact stories and program updates.
Administrative & Reporting Duties
Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, volunteer hours, and community engagement metrics.
Prepare reports and updates for leadership as needed.
Support program staff with additional tasks related to outreach and events.
Qualifications
Experience in outreach, community engagement, event coordination, or related work preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
Ability to multitask, manage deadlines, and work both independently and as part of a team.
Basic marketing or social media skills preferred.
Comfortable representing The Healing Place in community settings and building collaborative relationships.
Passion for supporting individuals in recovery and commitment to the mission of The Healing Place.
Work Environment
Occasional evenings or weekends required for events and community engagement.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds for event setup is helpful.
Must be able to travel locally to represent The Healing Place as needed.
