At New Perspective, we value a socially interactive and healthy dining experience and it starts with the quality of service provided by our dining team. Your primary responsibility is to use your knowledge, hospitality and service skills to ensure that residents and guests are enjoying their dining experience. You will train and mentor our servers in place setting, menu presentation, seating arrangements/reservations, order taking, tray setup/delivery, portioning of food, coffee/juice beverage machines, service during meals, bussing of tables, and cleanup to ensure the dining room front of house (FOH) runs smoothly and complies with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures. Plus, champion our New Perspective’s mission and values to form a collaborative team model. All of this will help enhance our overall dining experience and make our meal time one of the best parts of our residents' day.

Responsibilities

Meet with each new resident upon move in to review dining services and options available.

Oversee resident reservation process and documentation at each meal

Recruit, interview, hire and train servers

Supervise server team members and organize assigned tasks daily.

Monitor supply inventory levels and perform weekly inventory assessments.

Prepare schedule and post in timely manner for servers and cooks (as needed)

Ensure server workspace and dining room is clean and organized.

Serve as a backup to team members on the floor.

Server as a backup for ordering materials, supplies as needed.

Ensure uniform standards are met prior to each meal.

Ensure team members are complete required online training on time.

Participate in coordination of special events (involving food) with Life Engagement Team.

Participate in Resident Council/Town Hall meetings to listen to feedback for improved dining services as needed.

Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as all company policies and procedures, HIPAA, and Resident Rights.

Qualifications

A high school diploma or equivalency

A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the serving/restaurant industry.

Certification for the position as required by state regulations, such as ServSafe or ability to complete course within 3 months of hire.

Ability to work in a team environment

Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing using the English language

Ability to handle multiple task simultaneously

Ability to work flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
