Investor Relations Manager

What You’ll Do
Responsible for tactical execution of the Bank’s investor relations and partnership with the Investor Relations and Corporate Development Director on strategic initiatives around M&A, corporate development, planning, and strategic finance initiatives.
Execute creation of messaging and publications to the investment community; supervise and perform analytical workstreams underlying those materials.
Research key market, investor and industry trends and develop discussion materials for senior leaders and the Board of Directors.
Support WAL’s cultivation of relationships with investors, equity research analysts and internal stakeholders; conduct analyses to identify opportunities to target new investors and increase existing ownership.
Attend and provide guidance on key sell‑side analyst‑sponsored conferences and investor meetings; plan and execute investor engagement activities and represent Investor Relations as requested.
Analytically evaluate corporate finance alternatives such as capital management actions (dividend, share repurchases); liaise with the broader Finance organization; provide guidance on peer bank actions, stock‑price drivers, market valuations and industry trends.
Support WAL’s annual Strategic Plan process by conducting critical analyses and research into economic, industry and regional bank competitive trends; facilitate internal discussions with business heads to ensure alignment between corporate strategy and functional areas; research and evaluate proposed business growth opportunities.
What You’ll Need
5+ years of related experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field from a four‑year college or university required; Master’s degree beneficial.
Intermediate‑to‑advanced knowledge of banking products, services, regulations, policies and procedures, with emphasis on lending practices, deposit markets, commercial and industrial lending, commercial real‑estate and niche markets.
Intermediate‑to‑advanced knowledge of investor relations activities and securities‑related regulations.
Professional certification such as CPA, CFMV or similar desirable.
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills; strong analytical and organizational skills.
Intermediate‑to‑advanced knowledge of spreadsheets, data mining and gathering; intermediate‑to‑advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office and financial reporting/accounting software.
