MANAGER – CONVENTION SALES Venetian Meetings

Position Overview The primary responsibility of the Manager – Convention Sales is to identify and qualify leads and contract business opportunities that align with meeting company’s financial goals, maximize revenues, and drive customer loyalty.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Meet and exceed quotas and financial goals set by management.

Effectively solicit and qualify business opportunities (leads) to meet defined business parameters, resulting in closing contracts through effective negotiations that align with meeting company’s financial objectives.

Develop and maintain an account base of business through on‑property customer meetings and direct solicitation, maximizing revenue for the company.

Qualify and respond timely to incoming assigned leads and follow through on commitments.

Partner with customers to understand their buying process, identify key meeting priorities, and position the company’s unique benefits to those priorities.

Accurately forecast and report sales pipeline.

Ensure that business is turned over properly and in a timely manner for quality service delivery.

Understand overall market competitors’ strengths and weaknesses and how to sell against them.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities

Clearly communicate and articulate ideas externally and internally at the opportunity level, supported by reliable data.

Engage independently with cross‑functional teammates to understand product and services available to groups and how the hotel differentiates itself from the competition.

Travel on a limited basis and participate in sales calls, site inspections, entertainment, networking events, training (as assigned) midweek, evenings, and weekends as needed.

Support other members of the sales team as needed.

Manage effectively within defined sales roles, internal sales processes, and departmental/company policies and procedures.

Document all pertinent daily sales activities, cataloging account and client information accurately as defined by department SOPs.

Work within the structure of defined sales processes to evaluate and execute sales contracts effectively.

Adhere to safety requirements; consistent and regular attendance is essential.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Company Standards of Conduct All The Venetian Resort Team Members are expected to conduct themselves professionally at all times and are required to observe the Company’s standards, work requirements, and rules of conduct.

Minimum Qualifications

21 years of age.

Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.

Ability to obtain and maintain an Alcohol Awareness Card or any other certification or license required by law or policy.

Five years of experience in hotel sales at a luxury property.

One year of experience selling large, complex group business at a property or sales office preferred.

Demonstrated experience in contract negotiation, customer relations, and presentations.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint.

Working knowledge of property operations preferred.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members from diverse backgrounds and levels of experience.

Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

Lift or carry 20 pounds unassisted in the performance of specific tasks.

Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without reasonable accommodation.

Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.

Interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.

Prolonged periods of walking, standing, stretching, bending, and kneeling.

Work in a fast‑paced and busy environment.

Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
