Position Overview Calyx Containers takes immense pride in providing our customers with the highest quality packaging solutions and the Account Executive role is pivotal in driving new business opportunities from inception to finalization. As the primary point of contact for strategic prospects, Account Executives must possess a comprehensive understanding of the market dynamics affecting our customers sales and operations goals and the cannabis industry at large. Responsibilities include mastering the client's historical mergers and acquisitions, uncovering anticipated market expansions, negotiating with key decision-makers, and understanding the brand ethos and objectives of each managed account. The role demands a sophisticated grasp of B2B sales psychology and adherence to a well‑structured sales process that informs management on what activities drive success and represents the professionalism of working with Calyx Containers. The compensation package (base, commission, benefits) is lucrative for self‑motivated go‑getters as there is not an upper limit to earnings. An individual who is passionate about building relationships, solving problems and continuous learning/improvement will succeed in this role.

Primary Responsibilities

Prospecting: Strategize and execute plans to secure business from strategic Tier 1 and 2 accounts, serving multiple national and/or global markets.

Sales Performance: Meet or exceed targets by engaging and securing new business opportunities through a consultative sales approach.

Opportunity Generation: Create new qualified sales leads through proactive outreach and effectively align Calyx’s offerings with client needs.

Client Advisory: Serve as a trusted consultant and industry expert, delivering value across multiple functions within client organizations.

Cross-Department Collaboration: Liaise with internal teams including Art, Customer Success, Product, and Operations to guarantee a cohesive client onboarding experience.

Pipeline Management: Oversee and predict the flow of deals through all stages of the sales funnel; provide regular updates and forecasts to sales leadership.

CRM Administration: Maintain accurate records of daily activities, forecasts, and opportunities in HubSpot.

Solution Presentation: Offer comprehensive solutions tailored to prospective clients' specific challenges within a dynamic industry.

Industry Expertise: Continuously update knowledge on regulatory frameworks and market trends in child‑resistant packaging and develop targeted messaging.

Competitive Analysis: Stay informed about competitors, recognizing their strengths and weaknesses.

Strategic Planning: Prepare Annual Account Plans and conduct Quarterly Business Reviews with all key accounts.

Customer Insights: Capture and leverage customer feedback to drive new business and mitigate competitive threats.

Process Improvement: Constantly seek and recommend process enhancements to increase operational efficiency.

Travel Requirements: Travel 25-50% to engage with Tier 1 & 2 accounts at least quarterly.

Collections Assistance: Leverage existing relationships to assist when regular collections efforts are not successful.

Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Accounting, Management, or related field.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years in full-cycle B2B sales.

Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication, presentation, and strategic analysis skills.

Performance: Proven ability to drive revenue growth through new business development.

Adaptability: Capable of quickly learning and adapting to new business environments and priorities.

Industry Knowledge: Experience in packaging or cannabis sectors is advantageous.

Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and at least one CRM platform.

Gritty but Team Player Attitude: A leader in overcoming adversity, lifting others up as they climb.
