Job Description The Evening Event Manager has primary responsibility for overall coordination of student activities, events, and departmental facilities during the evenings and weekends. The manager provides on‑site support and advice to student event organizers. Working collaboratively with student managers, they ensure events run smoothly and safely.
Work Schedule
Part‑time hourly position. Hours range from 5 to 12 per week during the academic year.
Start and end times vary based on scheduled events. Typical shifts: Fridays 7:00 pm–2:30 am, Saturdays 3:00 pm–2:30 am, occasional Thursdays 7:00 pm–2:30 am. No hours during holiday breaks.
Rare daytime meetings or trainings.
Job Qualifications
Event planning and management experience, including events with alcohol, preferably on a college campus.
Availability Thursday, Friday and/or Saturday evenings and weekend days throughout the academic year (late August through late May; summers and winter break off).
Must be available the last weekend in April for Spring Weekend and in May, the week prior to Memorial Day, for Senior Week.
Job Competencies
Excellent communication, organizational and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to relate to students and understand the purpose and value of student‑run campus events and programs.
Brown experience helpful but not required.
