More than a liaison, the Sr. Account Executive/Account Executive is the client advocate to the agency. The AE helps develop and guides clients’ marketing programs, providing input on strategic solutions to clients’ business objectives. The AE maintains deep knowledge of their clients’ business, industry, and competition and contributes to the overall success of their clients’ overarching book of business within the agency.

To summarize, a strong Account Executive provides day‑time executional support to the account team with emphasis on project management, ensuring agency success by keeping internal teams updated and on track with projects and by creating and maintaining key project documents and assets.

Senior Account Executive / Account Executive Overview

Have in-depth knowledge of clients’ business, industry, and competition.

Build strong working relationships with clients and internal team members.

Contribute to the strategic direction and lead day‑to‑day management of the account.

Ensure the work is on brand and achieves clients’ goals.

Be a student of the industry – be hungry for new information and seek opportunities to share learnings with colleagues and clients where relevant.

Have a go‑getter attitude with a strong willingness to learn and be able to adapt to changes and requests.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide industry‑specific insights and subject‑matter expertise, recommendations and guidance across the agency and to the client when appropriate.

Track all competitive advertising activity and assist in the preparation of competitive reviews and updates.

Build rapport and credibility with the agency and client team based upon trust, account service delivery and expert counsel.

Attend and help facilitate client status meetings, keeping status sheets up to date, and sharing conference reports.

Work with the Account Supervisor and EVP Client Services to establish marketing strategies that accomplish business goals and evaluate their effectiveness.

Understand and follow all agency procedures, while taking a role in seeking ways to improve upon them.

Understand the elements of a strategic marketing communications plan and be able to actively participate in its generation.

Assist in proofing all layouts, copy and mechanicals before presentation to client.

Review and analyze invoicing and billing reconciliation for clients for consistency.

Coordinate development and client approval of estimates for all client‑related projects.

Understand all the steps and resources necessary to complete each stage of a job.

Be well‑versed in all full‑service agency offerings.

Keep the Account Supervisor informed on the status of all projects including completion and distribution of weekly status reports, production timelines or other verbal or written updates.

Monitor all client projects and campaigns to ensure they remain on strategy and meet business KPIs, utilizing appropriate reporting tactics in coordination with agency team.

PROJECT COORDINATION RESPONSIBILITIES

Attend Daily Scrums with the Account Supervisor to align on daily priorities, making sure the project management tool is updated prior to larger team scrums.

Keep Client Services apprised of project developments internally and externally.

Reinforce weekly time entry project management tool within the agency.

Work alongside client and creative services to develop timelines and allocate resources for project execution.

REQUIREMENTS

3‑5 years of relevant experience.

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Advertising, Marketing or business related preferred.

Understanding of Google Suite (docs, sheets, slides).

Understanding of Microsoft Suite (excel, word, powerpoint).

Experience with project management tools (Asana, Monday.com, Wrike, etc.).

QUALIFICATIONS

Demonstrated account leadership, initiative, and willingness to assume greater responsibility.

Confidently lead, motivate and influence project progress.

Ability to proactively make decisions and anticipate issues and needs before they arise.
