H-E-B's Transportation Fleet is proof of our excellence in logistics: our Drivers and Support teams ensure 475 tractors and 3,530 trailers move over 73 million miles every year to ensure our Customers get the products they want in the manner they want to shop, pay for, and receive them. Responsibilities
Assist with basic to mid-range diagnostics and troubleshooting Assist with basic repairs, preventative maintenance, and replacements in assigned specific classification Operate with basic tooling May work with others in an apprentice-style environment Assists in minor trailer repairs; repairs/replaces lights and interior plywood; adjusts brakes, repairs air leaks, repairs scuff liner Performs basic welding Repairs/replaces wheels and tires Performs preventative maintenance Performs trailer lubrication as needed Performs all safety-sensitive trailer repairs with Trainer or Foreman Qualifications & Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent 0+ years of mechanical experience (any is a plus) Skilled level of welding Familiarity with general preventative maintenance and safety procedures Skills to use fabricating tools Electrical skills (shorts/repair diagnosis) Ability to obtain a valid Texas Commercial Driver's License within 6 months Ability to read schematic diagrams Work in a team environment Lift 100 lbs and carry a distance of 5 ft Work sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and in a prone position Work with hands over head Climb and work from a ladder Begin actively pursuing the required certification for next Technician level Possess/maintain required tools Obtain CDL within 6 months of job start Obtain DOT certification within 1 year of job start Job Details
