About the Role The Outside Advanced Planning Representative is accountable for assisting families who need to make pre‑need funeral and cremation arrangements, ensuring the expectations of client families and their guests are exceeded. The role is based at

Lakeland Funeral Home

in Lakeland, Florida.

Must live in the local area and must have sales experience.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or degree preferred

Minimum of 2 years of sales experience

Proven track record in outside sales production strongly preferred

Must have or be able to obtain an insurance license as required by law

Valid driver’s license with good record

Strong telephone, interpersonal, and communication skills

High level of compassion, integrity, independent, self‑motivated

Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently; Bilingual is a plus

Preferred background as an insurance agent; strong networking ability

A desire to make money while helping people

Ability to multi‑task, set priorities, and manage appointments

Job Duties

Meet with client families on a pre‑need basis to present all options for funeral and cremation services and related merchandise

Work independently to solicit new leads, referrals, and sales opportunities

Proactively create and make sales away from the location with minimal supervision

Spend no more than 20% of time at the location or in the office

Establish a professional relationship with client families to ensure all needs are met

Represent the company professionally, maintaining a caring demeanor and ethical methods

Develop new prospects and community contacts through cold calling, phone solicitation, seminar attendance, and referrals

Maintain positive communication with all departments to ensure smooth service for the family

Participate in all required location and company training initiatives

Report progress to the Sales Manager or Unit Leader, completing all required reports promptly

Adhere to pricing structures, complete paperwork accurately and timely, and submit all contracts, documents, and payments to the business office within deadlines
