50% Driving Travel Required: Drive to customer locations across the assigned sales territory; overnight stays may be required.
Position Purpose As the Sales Manager, you report to the OpCo Sales Director and will be responsible for hiring, training and managing a sales team. Leading this team and driving strategic same‑store sales growth through educating customers on category management opportunities, foodservice programs and business solutions. A successful candidate will have effectively demonstrated the ability to lead a team of selling consultants achieving customer and sales growth objectives.
Primary Responsibilities
Grow OpCo same‑store sales growth with convenience and foodservice program offerings to meet targeted plans.
Work closely with operations team on inventory control and food safety initiatives.
Maintain current knowledge of all selling technology and enterprise strategies and execute them with the sales team.
Track sales performance and productivity goals through data reporting.
Develop pricing and marketing go‑to‑market strategies for both single convenience store operators and large, regional convenience store chain customer base.
Lead sales meetings and participate in conferences and trade shows.
Conduct weekly field visits, store rides, with sales personnel.
Achieve goals associated with Corporate‑directed programs.
Build relationships with existing and prospective customers.
Develop, train and mentor all sales personnel on current and new company sales initiatives to ensure objectives are met and policies are adhered to.
Cultivate interpersonal relationships that encourage openness, candor and trust, both internally and externally.
Perform other duties as assigned.
The Ideal Candidate Should Possess
Ability to work in the office and in the field, maintaining a schedule of 1‑2 days per week in the field attending customer visits.
Ability to dissect sales data and present findings, opportunities and headwinds to Director of Sales.
Excellent customer service and internal communication skills, and knowledge of the industry.
Proficient computer and Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, etc.) with data analysis experience.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent is required.
Minimum of 5+ years of sales experience including business development and account management.
2+ years of leadership experience leading and developing teams of >10 associates.
Must own a reliable vehicle with a valid driver’s license, current auto insurance and a clean driving record.
