Alkegen has an exciting opportunity for a Service Account Manager to join our Commercial Excellence team. This role involves strong oral and written communication skills and building rapport with customers and partners. Work hours are Monday‑Friday 8 AM to 5 PM ET.

Job Description Summary The Service Account Manager (SAM) acts as the liaison between external customers, sales engineers, internal warehouses, and manufacturing groups. The SAM manages customer and distributor orders, processes new orders, monitors existing ones, and performs general customer maintenance duties. The role requires tact, attention to detail, quick decision‑making, and the ability to juggle multiple responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Receive and process customer orders and inquiries.

Maintain ongoing relationships with assigned customers and commercial partners.

Ensure orders are entered correctly and customers receive acknowledgment with realistic delivery dates.

Provide standard pricing, quoting, product availability, and schedule information within established guidelines.

Check prices and validate configurations as needed.

Serve as communication link between customers and commercial to assure responsiveness.

Track order activity and alert stakeholders of any potential delivery problems; partner with Logistics to expedite deliveries.

Slot order deliveries into the production schedule and communicate changes in demand or requested delivery dates.

Use product knowledge, availability, territories, and customer insights to provide key communications to the customer.

Maintain a high level of customer service reflected by a low number of complaints.

Work closely with Production Control, Purchasing, and Shipping to ensure customer needs are met.

Have basic knowledge of export order processing, including ocean and air export regulations, NAFTA and other free trade agreements.

Qualifications

High School Diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred.

2–5 years of customer service experience.

Manufacturing company experience preferred.

Preferred knowledge of U.S. trade compliance (import/export compliance, ITAR, NAFTA, other free trade agreements, Made in the USA rules, harmonized tariff rules).

Excellent organizational and communication skills with strong detail orientation.

Capable of handling multiple priorities and adapting to change with ease.

Willing to take on additional tasks and work effectively on a team.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required; knowledge of Oracle preferred.

Ability to rotate with other CSRs to provide holiday coverage.
