Patuxent Materials, Inc. is seeking a full-time Inside Sales & Customer Service Representative to join our team in Crofton, MD.
Job Summary Responsibilities include providing an excellent customer service experience, working with Dispatch to manage order information and communications, researching and troubleshooting order issues, maintaining project and bid lists, processing incoming information and generating reports and project information.
Minimum Qualifications
One (1) year of general work experience preferably in customer service, inside sales, or related field.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
Essential Functions
Receive and reply to customer inquiries related to product pricing, product types and overall project information.
Quote COD customers and requests.
Generate orders and communicate delivery instructions through our dispatch office.
Post delivery customer follow‑up through phone calls or emails.
Call assigned customers to inquire on potential needs.
Research and pursue project leads and potential contacts for outside sale team.
Generate project information and customer leads. Interact closely with Sales team by relaying information such as job location, contacts, material types and quantities.
Review customer concerns with Sales and Dispatch.
Qualify customers for projects listed through online Bid listings.
Send and receive credit applications.
Maintaining material information and specifications.
Occasional office visits to customers.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Estimating experience is preferred.
Knowledge of and ability to use computer applications and systems.
Math background or desire to learn.
Effective communicator and organizer.
Ability to multi‑task.
Highly motivated, energetic, and a results‑oriented attitude.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
