Job Summary: As a Supervisory Sales Associate you will be the face of our company to both the associates and our customers. You will highlight our brand and image while contributing to building our reputation as a company that values its customers and their opinions. You will be directly responsible for assisting customers and helping them recognize the need for our products and services. You will also be a team leader to the associates, ensuring the work environment is positive and productive. Through a continuous learning environment you will stay current on products we sell and be able to articulate our purpose in an educational, insightful, and professional manner. Responsibilities

Customer Service:

Proactively engage and make a connection with customers; ask questions and listen to customer needs; direct customers to merchandise, informing them about upcoming events, promotions, mobile offers, and STAR card benefits; provide premier customer service; cooperate and build positive, inclusive, and respectful relationships; take accountability for your own actions and outcomes.

Organization:

Maintain store appearance.

Sales:

Cross‑sell products and know the store layout; suggest latest trends and current promotions based on customer needs; upsell products; learn product features and keep up with trends; leverage company tools and technology to confidently provide product knowledge specs; use a point‑of‑sales system to process cash exchanges, discounts, gift cards, credit cards, debit cards, cash handling, including counting money and returning accurate amounts to customers; complete various forms of paperwork, reports, and reconciliation.

Inventory:

Be the keeper of merchandise; complete all inventory processes and ensure merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed; participate in periodic inventories; be responsible for the security of cash, fixed assets, and merchandise inventory; provide direction on assignments, including prioritizing projects and tasks, managing merchandise and inventory.

Dependability:

Adhere to assigned work schedule; accurately and completely follow through on work assignments.

Supervisory Requirements:

Provide effective leadership; demonstrate ability to direct, train, and motivate associates; set a positive example; provide coaching and feedback timely and professionally; direct work assignments, train sales associates, and provide input to Department Manager on associate performance; may open/close locations.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Product Knowledge: Moderate level of knowledge of products and merchandise; provide training documentation to sales associates on product features.

Experience: 1–2 years of retail or relevant work experience required; 1 year of lead or supervisory experience preferred.

Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; effectively communicate with customers, peers, and management; telephone etiquette.

Mathematical Skills: Basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division); use calculator to calculate percentages and ratios; ability to make change in American monetary units.

Reasoning Ability: Multi‑task while being attentive to customers and remain flexible to business needs; work as part of a team and take initiative independently of direct supervision; defuse escalated exchanges and create win‑win situations.

Physical Demands & Work Environment: Constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing, and standing for at least two consecutive hours; may involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders; vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus; lift at least 25 lbs. and up to 50 lbs. in some departments; work typically indoors but may be assigned outdoors.

Other Skills: Enthusiastic, friendly, and energetic with a desire to provide outstanding service.

Work Hours & Schedule Available to work a variety of hours, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Full‑time (35+ hours).
