Responsibilities
Participate with management in creating an annual forecast and territory sales plan with specific account strategies and measurable goals. Revise sales plan and account strategies as needed during the course of the year.
Implement sales plan strategies throughout the course of the year.
Develop new business at existing and new accounts by maximizing the number of sales calls, creating and developing new opportunities, and offering creative product and value‑added service solutions to customers.
Utilize CRM to keep track of all sales activity, including sales calls and pipeline opportunities.
Involvement in decisions regarding pricing/gross margin and terms in an effort to maximize the profitability of all customer transactions.
Interface with accounting department to resolve any customer related credit issues.
Establish, maintain, and improve customer relationships and satisfaction.
Communicate with branch and other company personnel frequently regarding territory activity including leads, quotes, returns, credit, pricing/gross profit, competition, problems, etc.
Establish mutually productive working relationships with vendor reps. Meet with reps frequently and make joint sales calls as needed.
Remain current on product and industry knowledge by attending sales meetings, vendor training, trade shows, or reading trade journals. Learn and apply new product knowledge to enhance sales and personal professionalism.
Attend all company and vendor meetings as required. Participate in a professional and constructive manner.
Practice honesty and integrity in customer and vendor relations.
Present a professional image at all times to other personnel, customers, and vendors. Use common courtesy and respect towards others.
Submit all reports as required by sales manager on time.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Experience: 5 years in outside sales selling Power Transmission and Automation related products e.g., bearings, gearing, clutches & brakes, linear motion, AC/DC drives & motors, fluid power, electrical, etc.
Demonstrated success meeting sales goals and growing sales.
Demonstrated understanding and application of effective selling strategies and techniques.
Qualifications and Requirements
Associates degree or higher in a related field (Industrial Distribution/Business/ Engineering/Marketing) preferred.
Effective listening, communication (verbal and written), and negotiation skills.
Motivated self‑starter, comfortable in fast‑paced environment.
Problem‑solving and analytical ability.
Team player who works productively with wide range of people.
Strong project management and multi‑tasking skills.
Technical expertise and knowledge of company products.
Manages time effectively and adapts quickly to changing priorities.
Ability to create and execute a territory sales plan.
Superior presentation/public speaking skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and distribution software.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Travel Travel required Y/N: Yes Travel is 90% local; occasional overnight travel required.
