Account Executive
role on their growing public affairs team.
Salary and Compensation OC provided pay range:
$60,000.00/yr - $85,000.00/yr
Position Details Account Executive
– Full-time, Entry level – Government Relations Services
Responsibilities
Support the day‑to‑day management of multiple client accounts and advocacy campaigns.
Draft deliverables such as policy briefs, stakeholder memos, talking points, and presentations.
Track timelines and deliverables to ensure seamless coordination across internal and external teams.
Maintain proactive communication with clients, project partners, and stakeholders.
Monitor and analyze local and state legislation, ordinances, and agency actions affecting client interests.
Prepare legislative updates, bill summaries, and policy reports.
Support senior advocates in preparing materials and testimony for hearings and regulatory meetings.
Conduct targeted research on policy issues, elected officials, and key stakeholders.
Assist in the development and management of stakeholder coalitions, including outreach to business, labor, community, and advocacy organizations.
Support planning and execution of advocacy events, press conferences, and digital campaigns.
Coordinate communications for partners, including newsletters, toolkits, and calls‑to‑action.
Draft press releases, op‑eds, and digital content to support client and firm initiatives.
Maintain and update media and stakeholder contact lists.
Track and compile media coverage reports for clients.
Contribute to internal process improvement and knowledge sharing.
Represent the firm professionally at events, conferences, and stakeholder meetings.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Communications, or a related field (preferred, not required).
2–5 years of experience in public affairs, government, or communications—preferably in a legislative or political environment.
Excellent writing, research, and organizational skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills to engage with elected officials, staff, clients, and partners.
Familiarity with California’s state and local government structure and policy landscape (preferred).
Willingness to travel within California and to Washington, D.C. (approximately 50%).
