Job Title: Business Development Associate
Position Summary
The Business Development Associate is responsible for identifying new opportunities for Joink by visiting new and existing customers. This position is primarily outside sales and will work closely with department managers in aligning business opportunities in their respective areas.
Essential Functions
Generates new sales with small to medium-sized business customers within Joink Fiber Network.
Prepares offers and approaches Multi-Dwelling Unit (MDU) owners and property management staff to negotiate entry and service to residents.
Engages with marketing on sales and strategies, including door-to-door business sales and working with the Marketing team to develop new sales strategies.
Engages in sales outside the office up to 80% of the time, selling commissionable items at agreed upon rates.
Follows through on all customer requests, acting as lead person for preparing written proposals.
Acts as a technical representative during initial contact with customers.
Driving duties include conveying materials, equipment, and staff to and from work sites.
Maintains positive relationships with customers, answering questions as needed.

Ability to maintain a professional demeanor
Ability to convey technical knowledge in an understandable way, including making presentations to various groups
Exceptional customer service skills
Ability to evaluate situations and adjust to changing priorities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software
Ability to learn CRM software and utilize other relevant sales tools.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
2+ years’ business-to-business sales experience or equivalent
Candidate must be willing to reside near or commute to a Joink office (Currently within Illinois: Taylorville, Hillsboro; Indiana: Terre Haute)
Candidates which have the following will have priority:
Bachelors’ degree or equivalent experience in the field of computer science, computer technology, or business administration.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
40 hours per week
Both office environment and outside sales
Must be able to work overtime with and without notice.
Regular travel within the network footprint to engage in outside sales
May have access to company vehicle; mileage-reimbursement for personal vehicle usage
Occasional travel to industry conventions or training
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to spend long hours using a computer/keyboard and/or phone. May involve prolonged periods of sitting, standing, or walking.
