Position Overview
Account Executive – Asphalt & Concrete Construction
The Account Executive – Construction is responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities within the asphalt and concrete sectors. This role plays a critical part in expanding the company’s presence by cultivating strong client relationships and managing the sales process from initial contact through project completion.
You will serve as a key point of contact for clients—working to understand their project needs, present tailored construction solutions, and ensure satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle. Internally, you’ll collaborate with estimating, operations, and project management teams to align client goals with company capabilities and deliver outstanding results.
Key Responsibilities
Prospect & Acquire New Business
Identify and target new clients through market research, networking, and referrals
Qualify leads and convert them into sales opportunities
Develop and execute a strategic sales plan for assigned territory or vertical
Client Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong, long‑term relationships with clients
Serve as the client’s advocate throughout the project lifecycle
Conduct site visits and attend client meetings as needed
Sales & Project Alignment
Work with estimating and project management teams to develop accurate proposals and bids
Present proposals, negotiate terms, and close deals in alignment with company objectives
Ensure smooth handoff and communication with operations teams post‑sale
Market Intelligence & Reporting
Stay up to date on industry trends, competitor activity, and market conditions
Maintain accurate sales pipeline data in CRM system
Report on weekly activity, forecasts, and progress toward revenue goals
Collaboration & Strategy
Partner with leadership to refine sales strategies and improve client targeting
Contribute to marketing initiatives, trade shows, and client engagement campaigns
Identify opportunities to expand service offerings or cross‑sell capabilities
Qualifications
3+ years of sales experience in construction, asphalt, concrete, or a related industry
Proven ability to manage complex sales cycles and close high‑value contracts
Strong understanding of construction processes, terminology, and client requirements
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
Self‑motivated, results‑driven, and organized with a strategic mindset
Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally for site visits and client meetings
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in civil construction, paving, concrete flatwork, or site development
Familiarity with DOT, municipal, or commercial contracting requirements
Background in estimating or project coordination an advantage
