Job Overview
– The Mental Health Professional will work as part of a multidisciplinary team on the Behavioral Health Unit to provide proactive, collaborative care to the inmate population. This is a part‑time position (8 hours per week, Saturdays).
Position Summary The mental health professional supports a multidisciplinary team, providing crisis stabilization, intakes, ongoing evaluations, and service coordination.
Essential Functions
Provide crisis stabilization, complete intake assessments, and conduct ongoing evaluations.
Offer individual, group, and crisis therapy.
Participate in monthly behavioral health calls and collaborate with medical staff to determine treatment plans.
Perform risk assessments of inmates and coordinate care with interdisciplinary team members, community providers, psychiatric hospitals, and corrections staff.
Assist in discharge planning and implementation of program goals and objectives.
Prepare documentation, records, and reports, maintaining excellent and timely documentation skills.
Utilize clinical skills such as prioritizing treatment needs, crisis management, and brief interventions including CBT and Motivational Interviewing.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field.
Minimum two‑year experience in a social work capacity within a public or private agency (or equivalent).
Ability to make independent clinical decisions while working under supervision as needed.
Satisfactory background investigation report.
Schedule Part‑time – 8 hours per week (Saturdays).
