Sales Manager – The Home Depot Location: Albany, NY

Position Purpose The HDE Sales Manager (SM) is responsible for creating a high‑performing selling culture by fostering store connectivity, coaching and developing a team, managing Sales Consultant staffing, and delivering world‑class customer service. The SM leads a team of commissioned Sales Consultants into customer households, successfully closing sales of HDE’s product lines. The SM builds and maintains relationships with store management and associates, continually updates and trains them on HDE product offerings, and drives lead generation efforts. The SM manages Sales Consultants through hiring, training, performance management, and other employment lifecycle functions. The SM leads the team to achieve sales targets for an assigned territory and prioritizes business metrics (scorecards, KPIs, etc.). The SM ensures superior customer experience by monitoring reports to guarantee efficient project flow and by maintaining Voice of the Customer scores and feedback.

Key Responsibilities

Recruit, coach, and retain a team of commissioned Sales Consultants (20%).

Analyze and prioritize business metrics, and drive the team to achieve sales targets (20%).

Respond to escalated customer inquiries/concerns to sustain customer service (20%).

Generate leads and build store connectivity by training store partners on HDE products and service offerings (20%).

Strengthen store connectivity and relationships with store partners (20%).

Direct Manager / Direct Reports

Reports directly to the Field Director Services.

Has up to 5+ direct reports.

Travel Requirements

Requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.

Physical Requirements

Requires intermittent periods of continuous physical exertion such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, and lifting heavy or awkward material or equipment.

Working Conditions

Typically located in a comfortable indoor area with potential exposure to mild physical discomfort from dust, fumes, odors, temperature extremes, loud noise, drafts, or bright lights.

Must be 18 years of age or older.

Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
