OCDI Jr. - 32 hours - Community Residence Counselor - AMH Site: The McLean Hospital Corporation Mass General Brigham relies on a wide range of professionals to support patient care, research, teaching, and community service. Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care through group and individual counseling in accordance with current treatment plans.

Maintain clear, concise, and timely documentation including encounter forms and shift notes.

Establish professional relationships with patients and maintain boundaries.

Participate in patient rounds or teams per program guidelines.

Complete assigned patient care tasks per program guidelines and intervene in complex patient situations.

Remain awake and alert on the job; manage the therapeutic milieu effectively.

Lead and co-lead patient groups; supervise community activities and transport patients as needed.

Provide direction and supervision for patients as needed; follow program policies and protocols.

Communicate information about the patient milieu to appropriate staff promptly.

Supervise medication administration and report missed doses; communicate side effects to the medical staff.

Assist patients with activities of daily living and develop interventions to address strengths and deficits.

Assess sleep patterns and help patients develop better sleep cycles; assist with appointments.

Commit to professional growth, complete mandatory in-service requirements, and seek supervision for development.

Qualifications

Education:

High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred.

Licenses and Credentials:

Driver's license (MA, CT, NH, NY, RI, VT) required with ability to meet hospital driving standards.

Experience:

One-year patient care or related experience preferred, preferably in a psychiatric setting (1–2 years preferred).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Excellent verbal and written communication; time management; ability to work as part of a team; basic computer skills; familiarity with Epic preferred.

Physical Requirements

Standing frequently; walking frequently; sitting occasionally.

Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling as specified; occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling.

Frequent reaching and manipulation; constant vision, talking, and hearing.
