The Division of University Advancement is responsible for the development, coordination and implementation of external communications and all fundraising and friendraising activities, including alumni & family relations and church & community relations. University Advancement is an integral part of the university's ministry and outreach. Fundraising activities support academic programs, capital projects, athletics, endowments and student aid.

Role:

The Engagement Coordinator, Part-Time supports the mission of Concordia University Irvine (a comprehensive Lutheran Christian university guided by Christ's Great Commission, develops wise, honorable, and cultivated citizens to serve society and the church) and, specifically, the mission of University Advancement (To increase awareness, engagement, and philanthropy to support a diverse community of wise, honorable, and cultivated citizens). These efforts include the advancement of meaningful connections with alumni, parents, donors, and friends. This role plays a key part in strengthening engagement with these constituents through event coordination, communication support, volunteer stewardship, and administrative assistance. The Engagement Coordinator ensures that constituents feel informed, appreciated, and connected to the University's mission and strategic priorities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to accomplish each of the below duties satisfactorily:

EMAIL & CONTENT

Draft and proofread Advancement-related content for newsletters, event promotions, social media, web pages, and print materials.

Collaborate with Marketing & Communications to ensure brand alignment and consistent messaging.

Maintain and update constituent engagement materials, event webpages, and email distribution lists.

Manage general email inboxes, respond to inquiries, and provide customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

Track engagement metrics, prepare reports, and assist with analytics.

SOCIAL MEDIA

Assist with creating, scheduling, and publishing content for alumni and parent social media accounts.

Capture photos and short videos at events and campus activities to support storytelling and digital engagement.

Monitor engagement metrics and help develop strategies to strengthen online connection with alumni, donors, and friends.

ENGAGEMENT & STEWARDSHIP

Assist with outreach efforts to alumni, parents, donors, and partners to foster long-term engagement.

Help manage volunteer groups and advisory boards, including scheduling meetings, distributing materials, and maintaining accurate rosters.

Support stewardship initiatives such as thank-you calls, donor appreciation projects, and impact communications.

Contribute to strategies that enhance connection, participation, and involvement.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or three to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Part Time Staff, Non-Exempt

Hybrid Position

$22/hr
