Overview
A growing construction supply organization is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to manage and expand business within a defined territory. This role focuses on developing long-term relationships with commercial construction professionals while driving revenue through a mix of existing account management and new business development. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in the field, understands the construction sales cycle, and brings a consultative, relationship-driven approach.
Responsibilities
Manage and grow a portfolio of existing contractor and construction accounts
Prospect and develop new business within the assigned territory
Build relationships with owners, estimators, project managers, and superintendents
Identify upcoming projects and position products early in the planning and bidding process
Provide product recommendations and solutions tailored to customer and jobsite needs
Conduct regular in-person customer visits and jobsite calls
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment and customer satisfaction
Maintain accurate activity, pipeline, and account notes in CRM tools
Represent the organization professionally in the field and at industry events
Qualifications
Experience in outside sales within construction, industrial, or building materials
Proven ability to manage a territory and grow revenue
Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally within the territory
Experience selling to commercial contractors is strongly preferred
