Position Summary
The Vice President of Strategy & Innovation will shape CAQH’s long-term direction and accelerate execution of its strategic priorities, ensuring the organization continues to deliver trusted data that powers healthcare. Operating at the intersection of strategy, innovation, and execution, this leader will translate enterprise priorities into clear roadmaps, identify and test new growth opportunities, and deliver measurable business impact.
This role will support the development and execution of CAQH’s corporate strategy, lead strategic planning processes, and ensure alignment between long‑term priorities and near‑term operating plans. Serving as a strategic partner to the CEO and executive leadership team, the VP will guide innovative thinking across the enterprise, and triage ideas through a disciplined stage‑gate process, testing concepts for strategic fit, feasibility, and return on investment before advancing them to other parts of the organization for scaling.
Success in this role will be measured by improved decision quality on strategy and innovation choices, disciplined investment in innovation, enterprise alignment, and realized value from initiatives that move from concept to execution, in close partnership with leaders across Growth and Business Development, Product, Technology, Finance, Government & Public Affairs and other functions.
Compensation Base Salary Range: $250,000 – $275,000 annually.
Specific Responsibilities Enterprise Strategy
Lead the development, refinement, and execution of CAQH’s multi‑year enterprise strategy in alignment with board and executive leadership priorities.
Translate strategic priorities into clear operating plans, milestones, and success metrics.
Conduct market, competitive, and industry analysis to inform strategic decisions and investment choices.
Support annual and long‑range planning processes, including strategic reviews with the Board and executive leadership team.
Innovation & Growth
Identify, incubate, and scale new ideas, capabilities, and business models that advance CAQH’s products and growth objectives.
Partner with Product, Technology, and Commercial leaders to assess and prioritize innovation opportunities.
Evaluate build, buy, and partner options to accelerate innovation and time‑to‑value.
Drive disciplined experimentation, pilots, and proof‑of‑concept initiatives.
Execution & Strategic Enablement
Serve as a strategic integrator across functions, ensuring alignment between strategy, execution, and outcomes.
Establish governance, prioritization frameworks, and performance metrics to track progress against strategic initiatives.
Provide structure and rigor to enterprise‑level initiatives, ensuring clarity, accountability, and momentum.
Support executive decision‑making through high‑quality analysis, insights, and recommendations.
Stakeholder & Leadership Engagement
Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive leadership team.
Prepare executive‑ and board‑level materials, including strategy updates, business cases, and performance insights.
Foster strong collaboration across CAQH’s leadership team to drive alignment and shared ownership of outcomes.
Supervisory Responsibilities The Vice President is expected to perform a supervisory role and may manage 1–6 direct reports at any time. From time to time, the position may also function as an individual contributor, depending on project needs. The VP will be a steward of Strategy & Innovation finances and may manage market research vendors, consultants, or other partners. This role will also work closely with CAQH vendors and vendor teams across projects and products.

Experience
15+ years of experience in strategy, consulting, corporate development, innovation, or related leadership roles.
Experience in healthcare, health technology, data platforms, or regulated industries strongly preferred.
Demonstrated success leading complex, cross‑functional strategic initiatives from concept through execution.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear recommendations.
Exceptional communication skills, with experience presenting to executive teams and boards.
Proven ability to balance strategic thinking with hands‑on execution.
Proven ability to seek out new opportunities with partners or alliances that support innovation and product efforts.
Experience gathering and analyzing market insights or competitive intelligence.
Proven conceptual, analytical, and financial modeling skills.
History of quickly gaining credibility, partnering with business leaders, and exhibiting executive presence.
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience required.
MBA or Master’s degree in a relevant field strongly preferred.
