THE ROLE As a Hiking Guide, you'll lead guests through scenic trails, providing insight, encouragement, and a memorable outdoor experience. You'll be responsible for safety, education, and fostering a sense of wonder in every step of the journey. What we will ask of you: Lead guided hikes of varying lengths and difficulty levels. Share knowledge of local ecology, wildlife, and natural or cultural history. Ensure safety by monitoring trail conditions, weather, and group readiness. Manage group dynamics, offering support to hikers of all experience levels. Prepare and maintain hiking gear, first aid kits, and supplies. Promote environmental stewardship and Leave No Trace principles. Support team logistics including trip coordination and guest communication. Requirements for Success: Prior experience guiding or instructing outdoor trips preferred. Strong knowledge of local trails and ecosystems. Excellent communication, leadership, and guest engagement skills. Current CPR/First Aid certification required; Wilderness First Responder preferred. Ability to manage multiple guests with varying physical abilities. Flexible schedule including weekends and variable weather conditions. Ability to hike several miles over varied terrain while carrying gear up to 40 lbs. Comfort working in outdoor environments for extended periods. Benefits: Competitive salary and benefits package.
