Diesel Mechanic

to join our team! Previous waste industry experience is a significant advantage! The compensation for this role is between $25.00 and $50.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Additionally, we provide a tool allowance of $2,000.00 annually and a boot allowance of $200.00. Our benefits include regular wage increases, fantastic family benefits, and a stable, year-round work environment. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays as needed. The shift will run from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Conduct repairs and preventative maintenance services; perform inspections, diagnosis, and repairs on electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on vehicles and equipment. Utilize vehicle computer electronic systems to diagnose and interpret failure modes for repairs. Complete necessary documentation using fleet maintenance software related to vehicle repairs, parts usage, and repair time accounting. Review and address repairs noted on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports. Perform safety checks on vehicles and equipment. Respond to emergency breakdown service calls. Uphold a clean and safe work environment in accordance with corporate and OSHA standards. Responsibilities Include: Collaborating effectively with fellow diesel mechanics, showcasing strong interpersonal skills. Exhibiting excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Delivering exceptional customer service to drivers. Overseeing repairs of electrical and mechanical components. Handling routine maintenance tasks proficiently. Assuring high-quality repairs while adhering to established guidelines. Servicing a diverse range of equipment. Maintaining a current CDL license for necessary test drives and deliveries. Specializing in Cummins and Paccar engines. Logging all repair history accurately in the computer system. Keeping all equipment in clean and functional condition. Climbing ladders and stairs, working in confined spaces, and lifting up to 40 pounds. Adhering to Waste Connections repair shop regulations and standards. Qualified candidates must possess: A complete tool set, toolbox, and appropriate personal safety equipment. Basic computer skills and the ability to learn diagnostic software and tools. A Class B CDL or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of starting. Experience with yellow iron is a significant plus.
