In collaboration with the President & CEO, the
Development Director
is responsible for managing the successful implementation of organizational philanthropy goals of the
YMCA of Southern Maine
in order to advance the YMCA’s mission.

Three to five years of professional experience, with a background in fundraising growth required.
CFRE or equivalent a bonus.
Strong writing skills, in addition to foundation and government grant writing expertise.
Working knowledge of giving and charitable vehicles.
Experience with event planning preferred.
Detailed-oriented, with superior communication skills and the ability to clearly express ideas both verbally and in writing.
Excellent organizational and planning skills, ability to meet deadlines, and the ability to be flexible and prioritize tasks.
Excellent computer skills and ability to learn new software systems quickly. Experience with fund-raising and wealth-screening software preferred
Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle and ability to travel locally.
A criminal background check is required and may include fingerprinting through the Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS), prior to hire. This will be paid for by the YMCA of Southern Maine.
The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical, sensory and cognitive requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
