The renewable diesel unit (RDU) superintendent will provide strategic operational guidance and direction for the RDU team and be a subject matter authority for the department. In this role, the superintendent will oversee and ensure operating processes adhere to standards for safety, quality, operational effectiveness, and financial performance. The superintendent will also develop, implement, and maintain processes and programs built to ensure compliance with existing federal, state, and local environmental regulations and requirements for operations. Responsibilities include: Develop and execute safe reliable production targets for the facility Serve as a primary point of contact between operations, engineering, maintenance, and leadership Implement and monitor employee and compliance program standards and goals and promote a safety culture through training and education solutions related to operational issues and risks. Prepare and execute audits on internal and external operating and regulatory procedures on production safety including strategic and tactical execution in alignment with corporate environment, health and safety, quality, and regulatory functions and government regulations. Monitor operations, maintenance of plant equipment, and quality management goals to ensure product quality standard requirements are met within the department. Advise and manage capital and operating budgets to achieve short- and medium-term financial performance objectives set by the business to ensure accountability for meeting and controlling operating expenses and established targets. Identify and review hazards, risks, and opportunities on an ongoing and proactive basis and conduct incident investigations to ensure that appropriate follow-up actions are being implemented. Develop plans and deliver results in a fast-changing business or regulatory environment, while leading and developing a team of experienced professionals and supervisors, coaching and making decisions related to talent management hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions. Optimize process performance, including feedstock management, catalyst performance, and equipment utilization. Support MOC, PHA, and HAZOP processes and ensure compliance with all applicable standards Travel up to 5% of the time may be required. Other duties as assigned Minimum qualifications include: Bachelor's degree in a related field or 5+ years in related work experience Experienced in renewable/bio diesel, steam reformation, oil and gas industry, hydro processing, and or a PSM regulated facility Experience overseeing operations for multiple departments or processes and shifts and ensure direct reports follow policies and procedures related to employee and product safety and environmental compliance. Experience providing operational leadership to audit, inspection, and risk assessment processes. Must be legally eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
