POSITION SUMMARY
Fortune‑Johnson General Contractors is seeking a
Framing Superintendent
to join our team. The ideal candidate is a construction professional with extensive experience managing wood framing operations on large‑scale projects (multifamily experience preferred). The Framing Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all framing‑related field activities, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to Fortune‑Johnson’s high quality standards.
Primary Job Responsibilities
Lead and manage all framing field operations, working closely with the Project Superintendent to ensure project success.
Review framing plans, shop drawings, submittals, and specifications to confirm accuracy and alignment with project requirements.
Coordinate flow of framing activities, including sequencing, scheduling, logistics, and manpower planning.
Identify long‑lead materials and communicate proactively with the project team to ensure timely procurement and delivery.
Manage the framing inspection process; ensure all work meets jurisdictional and project standards.
Provide direction to framing subcontractors and labor teams; communicate expectations and monitor productivity, quality, and safety.
Complete daily reports, QA/QC documentation, punch lists, safety inspections, and other required reporting.
Ensure framing materials, equipment, and tools are delivered and staged efficiently to support continuous workflow.
Monitor framing budgets and hold subcontractors accountable for performance, quality, and adherence to scope.
Ensure that framing work progresses according to the overall project schedule.
Enforce and maintain a safe, organized, and clean framing work area.
Desired Skills and Experience
2–5 years of framing or structural construction experience.
Must be proactive, organized, and able to work with a strong sense of urgency.
Ability to foster strong working relationships with framing subcontractors while holding them accountable for performance.
Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
Basic proficiency with computers and construction technology platforms, including email, Microsoft Office, and Procore.
Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and inspectors.
Strong leadership skills and a commitment to teamwork.
Ability to coordinate, plan, and manage multiple activities in a fast‑paced construction environment.
Demonstrated ability to stay focused, adaptable, and solution‑oriented during high‑volume construction phases.
