Responsibilities

Execute purchasing strategy that supports the businesses’ overall market-driven strategy related to raw materials, components, purchase for resale products, and services

Drive rapid, significant, and sustainable improvement in on-time delivery, lead‑time, and purchase pricing

Analyze market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability

Advise stakeholders of significant purchasing issues that may impact business

Analyze categories and develop strategies to secure cost decreases

Lead regular strategy deployment & KPI reviews for the purchasing team ensuring attainment of results and a sense of urgency with respect to the strategic implementation priorities

Periodically present plans and actual results, strategy deployment, and KPI progress; take aggressive action to drive performance in the areas of purchase pricing, supply chain costs, and inventory levels

Partner with functional leaders to coordinate supply chain functions with manufacturing, sales, marketing, design engineering, and other departments

Continuously benchmark best practices and implement as appropriate

Establish recommendations for supplier enhancement, termination, and new supplier development

Initiate process improvements, simplify practices/workflows, and resolve problems

Identify sources of supply, seek the lowest total cost alternatives, and develop solid working relationships with suppliers

Ensure an uninterrupted supply of materials on a short lead‑time basis while satisfying all quality criteria

Provide detailed reporting on market conditions to management

Work closely with other functional areas to pursue alternative product solutions that will reduce costs

Required Skills and Experience

BS/BA in Supply Chain Management or Equivalent

5+ Years of sourcing/purchasing experience with 3+ Years management experience

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word, & Outlook)

Solid experience with major MRP software/tools

Clear, energetic, and engaging presentation and communication skills

Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems quickly

Comfortable with challenging the status quo

Ability to work with a team or independently and be a self‑starter

Strong communication skills, written and verbal

Willingness to travel as needed (approx. 15%)

Preferred Qualifications

APICS/ASCM Certification

MBA or Master’s degree is a plus
