Job Summary The Territory Sales Manager is responsible for overall sales activities in its material handling division with the goal of developing, growing and cultivating company sales and profit objectives through current customer base and new business prospecting; making calls with key customers and key distributors.
Compensation Salary range: $85,000–$90,000 per year. Bonus up to 30% based on experience and performance.
Key Responsibilities
Responding in a timely manner to incoming tasks (responding to requests for quotes, orders, technical question assistance, product selection, resolving customer issues).
Outbound activities include following up on quotes, opportunities and leads and maintaining account relations.
Gathering information to fulfill orders and transfer order information to customer service to be entered; communicating with customers on stock status, lead times and expected delivery dates of orders.
Develop accounts by checking customers’ buying history; suggesting related and new items; explaining technical features.
Assist customers with troubleshooting, reporting and tracking complaints.
Assess competitors by analyzing and summarizing competitor information and trends, identifying sales opportunities. Develop a proactive plan to prospect new customers and opportunities and report in CRM system.
Accomplish department and organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Required Education, Experience and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, or equivalent combination of education and previous sales or customer service experience.
Experience selling to both distributors and direct OEM accounts.
3-5 years of outside sales experience of manufacturing products.
Related manufacturing industry experience preferred.
The ability to build strong relationships with coworkers, customers and partners.
Successfully perform duties with a sense of urgency.
Must be persistent, action-oriented and results-driven.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
Strong organizational skills and ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
Data entry skills and experience in using CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software, Microsoft office applications, and ERP systems.
Travel will be required with this role. 6-8 trips a year and trade shows.
