Account Manager Associate – Commercial Lines (Fully Remote) Insurance Office of America is seeking an Account Manager Associate to support a commercial lines book with a strong focus on construction and contractor accounts.

Remote / Hybrid Hybrid preferred: One day out of Binghamton, Rochester, or Syracuse, NY office. Or fully remote for candidates residing in the Eastern or Central time zones. Individuals residing within 50‑mile radius of a branch location may be required to work onsite occasionally. Remote work requires a dedicated, distraction‑free workspace.

About the Role Provide administrative and customer‑service support to the account team, ensuring production and quality standards are met while safeguarding against liability. Resolve moderately complex service problems and handle smaller‑sized accounts independently.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain technical competence and industry expertise.

Assist in directing the day‑to‑day activities of Team Support, Account Assistant, and/or Account Associate.

Handle customer service requests, policy administration, billing, claims, and coverage analysis.

Manage policy expirations and renewals.

Conduct client research, gather underwriting information, perform loss‑run analysis, prepare submissions, evaluate and negotiate coverages and pricing, prepare and present proposals, bind coverage, and follow up for issuance.

Process tasks accurately within required timeframes.

Review contracts to ensure proper coverages are included.

Monitor accounts‑receivable reports and take action on delinquent accounts, collecting outstanding balances.

Maintain agency‑management systems and carrier/vendor platforms, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.

Monitor activity and suspense to ensure timely completion.

Maintain frequent, transparent communication with the account team regarding workload status and issues.

Deliver excellent service, proactively anticipate needs, and respond quickly to service requests.

Stay updated on company policies and procedures.

Seek and adopt best practices to improve individual and team performance.

Demonstrate integrity and leadership, championing IOA values.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

1–3 years actively managing a commercial lines book and 3–5 years customer‑service experience in the insurance industry.

Thorough knowledge of insurance brokerage and client needs.

Active property & casualty licensing; professional designation preferred.

Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.

Exceptional customer‑service, communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.

Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

High School Diploma (or equivalent).

What to Expect (Application Process)

Salary Range $55,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year, depending on experience, skills, and geographic location.
