Position Summary The Senior Workday HRIS Specialist serves as a strategic systems partner and technical expert across multiple Workday HCM modules. This role is responsible for configuring, maintaining, and optimizing Workday functionality to support global HR operations, compliance, and employee experience. As a senior member of the HRIS team, you will lead complex projects, mentor junior staff, and collaborate cross‑functionally to drive system excellence.

This is a full‑time, on‑site role in Southfield, MI. The schedule is Monday–Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends as needed. Remote or hybrid work is not available.

Responsibilities

Configure, test, and maintain Workday HCM modules (Core HR, Payroll, Benefits, Recruiting, Talent, Performance, etc.).

Manage system upgrades, patches, and integrations with other HR or business systems.

Identify opportunities to streamline HR processes and improve system efficiency.

Lead optimization projects to maximize the potential of Workday modules.

Collect, organize, and analyze HRIS data to support business decisions.

Develop and deliver custom Workday reports and dashboards for HR and leadership teams.

Partner with HR, payroll, finance, and IT teams to align system functionality with business needs.

Provide training and support to end‑users, ensuring adoption and effective use of Workday tools.

Manage and prioritize incoming requests to ensure efficient handling and timely resolution.

Ensure HR data integrity, security, and compliance with organizational policies and regulations.

Conduct audits and unit testing to validate system accuracy.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

5+ years of experience with Workday HCM configuration and administration.

Strong knowledge of Global HR processes, payroll, benefits, and talent management.

Experience with data analytics, reporting tools, and integrations.

Project management and leadership skills to drive system enhancements.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Familiarity with compliance standards and HRIS best practices.

Preferred Skills

Workday Pro certification in one or more modules.

Familiarity with SOX, GDPR, and other global compliance standards.

Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and drive system strategy.

Experience with Workday Studio, EIBs, and integrations.

Compensation The base pay hiring rate expected for this position is: $96,000–$128,000.

This position is eligible to participate in an incentive plan. Metrics and level of participation are determined annually.
