Job Summary The Category Management Analyst plays a key role in supporting data‑driven decision‑making to drive profitable share growth for DDC and its retail partners. This position is responsible for collecting and analyzing data from internal, syndicated, and retailer‑specific data sources to develop actionable insights. The Category Management Analyst will develop clear, strategic reporting and provide recommendations tailored to each stakeholder, identifying opportunities to improve category performance and increase market share.

Business Project Management
Manages multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and expectations established by the Category Manager and VP of Marketing are met.
Collects, organizes, and prepares data, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project‑specific objectives, including but not limited to: distribution, sales, pricing, promotion, and display.
Builds and refines tools, templates, and scorecards that enhance efficiency and quality of category reporting, keeping in mind the end user and their specific needs.
Identifies opportunities to automate routine reporting by collaborating with the IT Department and utilizing software like Excel, Access, Power BI, and SQL.
Maintains proactive and timely communication with the Category Manager and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment and project transparency from planning through completion stages.
Assists with merchandising duties as needed.
Data Analysis and Reporting
Creates and maintains retailer scorecards using a combination of internal and external data sources, adhering to standardized criteria and delivery timelines, ensuring insights are clear, actionable, and aligned with strategic company objectives.
Evaluates the effectiveness of retailer ads and floor plans to ensure alignment with company business plans and overall category performance.
Conducts pricing analysis to identify growth opportunities and evaluate performance against established goals.
Generates and distributes Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) on a recurring schedule.
Assists Key Account and Brand Management teams with category management‑specific presentation development for both internal and external use.
Proactively recognizes critical problems and opportunities and makes suggestions to capitalize upon them.
Assists sales departments with one‑off reporting needs on an ongoing and ad‑hoc basis.
People
Develops and maintains relationships with KAMs, Directors, Category Manager, Brand Managers, and the sales team at DDC.
Develops and maintains relationships with assigned retail buyers and suppliers.
Self‑Organization
Works primarily in an office setting, responsible for meeting established goals and timelines.
Ensures compliance with all company policies and practices applicable to the primary function of the position.
Develops and maintains analytical tools and reports that provide the customer and DDC with valid information regarding assortment, segment, pricing, distributor, retailer, and supplier performance.
Completes scorecards for retailer sales on a scheduled basis.
Required Skills
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field
At least 3 years of category management or sales experience, preferably in the beverage industry
High level of computer proficiency, analytical skills, and experience with technology‑based selling tools such as Space Management Software and Nielsen
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including the ability to perform advanced functions, create pivot tables, and utilize macros to simplify analytical projects
Strong communication and presentation skills
Strong organizational and analytical ability
Ability to implement and follow through on all initiatives
Work Shift Requirements
Ability to work any hours, as required, including evenings and weekends
Must speak to supervisor to notify him/her any time prior to the beginning of work shift when calling in sick. Voicemail or email messages are not acceptable replacements
Use and maintenance of company‑issued equipment
Environment & Physical Demands
Work safely and follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies and procedures
For all on‑the‑job injuries or accidents, must notify Safety Officer, supervisor, and Human Resources immediately (no later than 1 hour)
Exposure to confined spaces and cold temperatures during resets
Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs
Ability to repeatedly reach and lift cases of product and POS during merchandising activities
