Overview ACBJ is hiring a Business Journal Account Executive to work with market leaders and trailblazers, delivering impactful news to the business community. The role is hybrid, requiring office/market presence 3 days a week with flexible scheduling in consultation with your manager. Total compensation includes base plus uncapped commission, with guaranteed commission for the first 3 months and competitive benefits.

Responsibilities

Continually prospect and generate high‑quality targets using our consultative sales process.

Meet key performance metrics and goals on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis.

Actively diversify client base by offering strategic solutions with a viable revenue mix.

Develop and present customized multi‑channel advertising solutions.

Effectively manage the sales pipeline and revenue gaps using Salesforce CRM.

Constantly develop market intelligence and general business acumen.

Cultivate relationships within the business community through consistent networking and attendance at all Business Journal sponsored events.

Exhibit a coachable mindset and take an active role in training and development.

Qualifications

Two years of sales experience preferred; recent graduates considered.

A strong orientation to strategic thinking, communication, influencing, and building relationships at all levels.

Ability to simultaneously manage short and long‑term opportunities.

Strong organizational, analytical, written, and oral communication skills.

The ability to work independently in a constantly changing environment.

A team player who thrives in collaborative environments and partners across all departments and levels.

College degree or comparable work experience.

Proficiency with all Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, OneDrive, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams).

Compensation & Benefits Base salary range: $48 000 – $100 000+ (plus uncapped commission). Approved benefits include:
