Blackberry Farm
The Assistant Dining Room Manager is responsible for managing and assisting the overall operation of the front‑of‑the‑house food and beverage experience for all guests, which includes but is not limited to dinner, bar services, events, group services, coffee stations, and pantries.
Expected to arrive at 2:00 p.m. daily unless earlier.
Essentials Duties and Responsibilities
Training and developing the team
Communicating all internal information
Coordinating staff schedules
Daily operations of the dining room: opening, line‑up, service, and closing
Ensuring proper coverage and guest care for both shifts
Monthly inventory and ordering of china, linen, and silverware
Supporting team and captains
Assisting with the wine program
Maintaining positive team morale
Managing special cleaning projects
Monitoring service standards
Overseeing guest seating plans
Collecting guest feedback
Communicating with guests
Overseeing daily menu production
Owner of corporate meeting functions
Attending weekly team meetings, group meetings, and all‑manager meetings
Maintaining the look, cleanliness, and maintenance of the restaurant
Must comply with all company policies and procedures.
Regular and consistent attendance is required.
Must work well with other team members and managers and interact with guests.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Dining Room Supervisors and line‑level team
Education and/or Experience
2–3 years of operational management or supervisory experience in upscale dining rooms
Knowledge of wine and spirits
Computer skills: word processing, spreadsheets, property management systems
High school diploma or equivalent required
Language Skills
Strong listening and interpretive skills
Effective communication with guests, managers, and team members
Mathematical Skills
Understanding of property‑management cashiering procedures
Ability to comprehend budgeting issues and labor calculations
Reasoning Ability
Exercise judgment and make decisions based on job knowledge and company goals
Physical Demands
Ability to stand for long periods
Capability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Ability to safely operate a company vehicle or golf cart
Work Environment
Restaurant, dining room, bar, wait staff, and kitchen
