Community & Events Lead
role at
Quo
For millions of teams working in dozens of industries, day‑to‑day business gets done on the phone.
We are changing the way enterprise‑grade phone systems look, feel and act, moving from a 1990s‑style to a modern, sophisticated and productive experience.
Quo is a new type of business phone with a mission to help people communicate better and be more productive.
We are backed by Y Combinator and leading venture firms like Tiger Global, Craft Ventures and Slow Ventures.
We take pride in our exceptional customer experience and have been rated #1 VoIP provider on G2.
About The Role As our Community & Events Lead, you’ll build both online and offline communities, bringing customers and prospects together, and ensuring every interaction leaves the participants excited, engaged and motivated to learn more about Quo.
You’ll own the full strategy around events and community building—leading from a Reddit AMA with 100 great questions to a flagship conference booth that stops passersby in their tracks and launching an active network of 100s of advocates.
You will create spaces where small businesses connect, learn and champion each other—and transform customers into a vibrant community.
While you’ll own the work, you won’t do it alone: you’ll collaborate with Marketing, Content, Partnerships, Growth and Product teams to tie community and events into the larger narrative that drives acquisition.
Some of the Things You’ll Do
Build and nurture our online community spaces so they thrive
Identify and prioritize key sponsorships to expand Quo’s presence and credibility; book them and develop systematic assessment procedures to grow our event portfolio
Design community programs that turn our best customers into active advocates
Lead field marketing and be responsible for both event success and overall impact on the program, ensuring we stand out whether we’re planning meetups or hosting small‑business workshops
Align community and events strategy with Content, Partnerships, Growth and Product teams to maintain a unified story
Connect your work directly to acquisition goals, ensuring we capture and convert leads rather than simply sponsoring events for the sake of attendance
Measure what matters—engagement, advocacy, pipeline impact, lead generation—and use insights to continuously refine the approach
Ensure the voice of our community is heard within the company, guiding internal advocates to share customer stories and using customer feedback to guide product decisions
About You
10+ years in community and field marketing, ideally at SaaS startups where you balanced strategy with hands‑on execution
Track record of building communities and running events that stand out from the typical corporate approach and drive real outcomes
Strong planning skills—juggling timelines, budgets, logistics and details without losing sight of the bigger picture
Storytelling and hospitality talent; you build experiences people talk about long after the event ends
Comfort with strategy and scrappiness, sometimes in the same day
Prior work with small businesses or start‑up/entrepreneurial communities
Bonus: experience with Reddit and Slack communities
Compensation The annual base salary range for this position in the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, Seattle, Portland, Boston, New York and Washington DC metro is $165,000 – $184,000 USD, and in all other US locations is $147,000 – $164,000 USD, plus equity and benefits.
Salary is just one component of Quo’s total compensation package.
Your total rewards package includes equity, extensive medical coverage, a monthly lifestyle stipend and a flexible PTO policy.
Who We Are As a fully remote company, we thrive asynchronously as a team.
We are curious, ambitious and dedicated to our work. We value trust above all else and have a strong bias for action.
If you’re looking for a place to do your life’s work, please get in touch—we’d love to hear from you.
We believe there is no such thing as a ‘perfect’ candidate.
We’re looking for optimists with grit and determination, ready to face the challenges of a growing startup.
Quo encourages you to apply even if you don’t meet every requirement.
We are committed to creating an inclusive and diverse work environment.
It is important that you bring your authentic self to work every day.
We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status or disability status.
