Job Description Custom Property Western Region (CPWR) – Account Executive – The selected candidate will underwrite and market Seneca products throughout the West Coast region. Candidates who currently hold a Property & Casualty license are strongly preferred. The successful candidate will be required to obtain / maintain a Property & Casualty Broker’s License and a Surplus Lines Brokers License in California and in other states.
Responsibilities
Obtain Property & Casualty Brokers License and a Surplus Lines Brokers License in California and in various states.
Risk selection / rejection, pricing, retention, growth and profitability per objectives (New Business & Renewals).
Analyze coverage and limit requests and decide what terms to offer. Price business in accordance with company guidelines.
Apply independent judgement and initiative to support business goals.
Maintain underwriting discipline by adhering to a bottom line underwriting philosophy.
Remain within designated authority and seek approval as needed.
Document files appropriately with complete underwriting thought process.
Verify claims information from prior years.
Assess risk quality and compliance within company guidelines and initiate appropriate loss prevention actions.
Develop and maintain effective business relationships with clients in order to attract and retain profitable business.
Place reinsurance according to corporate guidelines.
Requirements
3+ years of Property Underwriting Experience (5+ preferred).
Experience working with wholesale brokers.
Excellent technical and marketing skills required.
Knowledge of market and regulatory environment.
Strong communication, negotiation and organizational skills required.
Strong self‑discipline, ability to work independently as well as a contributing team member.
College degree or equivalent is preferred. ARM and CPCU designations are a plus.
Position Location Remote – AZ, CA, CO, NV, OR, WA or Offices on Woodland Hills, CA, or Centennial, CO.
