TranSource Truck & Equipment, Inc. is a growing company representing Mack Trucks and Volvo Construction Equipment, and serves as the Servicing Dealer for several other product lines that support the On Highway, Construction, and Agriculture industries.
Position Summary The Outside Parts Sales Representative is responsible for actively seeking out and developing new and existing customer relationships within the truck and heavy equipment industries. This role involves identifying customer needs, providing expert parts solutions, and achieving sales targets while delivering exceptional customer service. You will be the primary point of contact for your assigned territory, building strong, long‑lasting partnerships.
Responsibilities
Proactively identify and pursue new sales opportunities within the assigned territory, including cold calling, networking, and follow‑up on leads.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, understanding their businesses and anticipating their parts needs.
Conduct on‑site visits to assess customer equipment, understand operational challenges, and recommend appropriate parts solutions.
Maintain a comprehensive understanding of truck and heavy equipment parts across various makes and models.
Prepare accurate and competitive parts quotes, negotiate pricing, and close sales orders.
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate order processing and delivery.
Address customer inquiries, resolve issues, and provide technical support related to parts.
Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and new product offerings.
Maintain accurate sales records, track progress against goals, and provide regular reports to management.
Collaborate closely with internal sales, service, and parts departments to ensure a seamless customer experience.
Effectively manage and prioritize sales activities within the assigned geographic territory.
Requirements
Proven experience in outside parts sales, preferably within the truck and heavy equipment industries.
Strong knowledge of truck and heavy equipment parts, terminology, and applications.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Proven ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
Self‑motivated, results‑oriented, and able to work independently.
Strong negotiation and closing skills.
Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales tools.
Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Ability to travel within the assigned territory.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Established network of contacts within the truck and heavy equipment industry in the Rapid City area.
