$120k-$280k Job Description

The Sales Manager ensures that the dealership meets its unit sales quotas and gross objectives on a daily, monthly, and yearly basis. They will ensure that retail and fleet units sold produce sufficient gross to meet profit objectives, through planning, organizing, coordinating, and measuring the activities of the New- and Used-vehicle Sales Departments. Duties and Responsibilities: Make a monthly projection of vehicle requirements for the immediate 90-day sales period. Determine monthly and yearly forecasts in units sold, gross profit, and departmental profits. Forecast monthly with each salesperson to establish objectives regarding customer flow, closing percentages, time utilization, prospecting efforts, unit sales, and projected income. Recommend procedures for advertising, sales promotions, staffing, lease promotions, compensation plans, customer complaints, sales evaluations, and car rentals. Prepare a Plan of the Week and submit it to the Dealer. Meet daily with each salesperson to review results and plans. Conduct sales meetings. Facilitate pre-delivery with the Service Manager. Provide on-the-job training for salespeople. Ensure salespeople follow prospecting programs for optimal results. Review monthly commission sheets, productivity reports, forecasts, and profit performance with the Dealer. Maintain balanced vehicle inventory and develop programs for moving new cars over 90 days and used cars over 45 days. Maintain standards for vehicle display, merchandising, and maintenance. Ensure every prospect is personally thanked. Check the condition of all demonstrators monthly. Keep an accurate count of floor traffic. Implement and monitor Factory Standards and programs to achieve 100% Customer Satisfaction. Conduct ongoing safety training and hazard assessments within the sales department. Ensure safety policies are followed and accidents are reported immediately. Operate company and customer vehicles safely, being insurable by the company's insurance carrier. Read and understand instructions and information. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, two years of automotive sales experience, and one year in dealership management. Must be authorized to work in the USA and pass pre-employment testing, including background checks, MVR, drug test, credit report, and valid driver license.
