Location: New York, NY (Hybrid) Reports to: Vice President, Bank Street Education Center Position Summary: The Bank Street Education Center is seeking a Senior Director of AI Strategy & Partnerships to lead the development and implementation of an AI strategy that aligns with our learner-centered, equity-driven mission. Reporting directly to the Vice President of the Education Center, this role will work closely with the Education Center's senior team and College leadership to shape Bank Street's approach to AI innovation, ensuring it enhances teaching, learning, and educational equity. This role will develop strategic partnerships with school districts, education organizations, and technology leaders, positioning Bank Street as a national thought leader in AI for education. The Senior Director will also play a key role in building internal capacity, ensuring faculty and staff are prepared to use AI tools responsibly and effectively.

Responsibilities AI Strategy & Innovation

Lead the development of Bank Street's AI vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with progressive education principles.

Work with Education Center and College leadership to integrate AI into programs, research, and operations.

Identify and implement AI-powered solutions that enhance teaching, learning, and professional development.

Stay informed on AI trends and represent Bank Street as a thought leader in national discussions on AI in education.

Business & Partnership Development

Establish and manage strategic partnerships with school districts, nonprofits, edtech companies, and funders to develop and scale AI-driven initiatives.

Develop and implement funding strategies, including securing grants and philanthropic support.

Collaborate with internal and external partners to pilot AI-enhanced instructional tools and curriculum innovations.

Internal Capacity Building

Support faculty and staff across Bank Street's divisions in building AI literacy and integrating AI tools responsibly.

Develop ethical guidelines and best practices for AI adoption in progressive education.

Facilitate training, workshops, and research initiatives to ensure AI use aligns with Bank Street's commitment to equity and child development.

Qualifications Skills & Knowledge

Strong understanding of AI's role in education and its impact on equity and progressive teaching and learning.

Deep understanding of K-12 education, equity in education, and the landscape of school partnerships.

Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience working alongside senior leadership teams.

Knowledge of education research, instructional design, or technology integration.

Track record of success in writing and reporting on complex grants;

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with various levels of an organization, experienced educators, and district teams;

Comfort with Google suite tools and Slack for team collaboration.

Experiences

Experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or innovation strategy, preferably in education, edtech, or AI.

Proven ability to build partnerships, secure funding, and lead cross-functional initiatives.

Experience with AI-driven tools for teacher coaching, curriculum development, or student learning.

Ability to design and manage complex and multiple projects independently.

Flexibility in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment with changing priorities and tight deadlines.

Master's degree in education or related field.

Salary

Salary Range: $125,000 - $135,000

Additional Information This position is contingent upon available funding.

After June 2026, the position is contingent upon the availability of additional funds.
