We are actively searching for a Superintendent to join our operations team in the Carolinas. In this role you'll lead in-house or field partner crews in an efficient and safe manner through install projects on commercial and industrial roofs.
Job Duties: Management of Field Crews
Ensure crews are staffed to meet production needs by interviewing and selecting candidates to fill open positions.
Ensure all crew members are trained to meet safety and quality standards by providing detailed training as needed- from Toolbox talks to skills training.
Develop and perform ongoing crew assessments in order to strengthen performance of the Field Managers and crew level staff
Develop and conduct career development training programs for crew members and Field Managers
Utilizing training offerings provided by manufacturers
Manage the tools and material needs of each crew
Review job scope, travel budget and hours of each job with the Field Manager prior to job start
Act as liaison between Field Manager and PM and quickly resolve and remove roadblocks for crews
Administrative Duties
Review and approve weekly timekeeping for crews by reconciling time to Geo Tab reports
Review and approve monthly expense reports
Review daily crew progress and daily labor as compared to budget and adjust as needed
Provide feedback during project handoff on estimated hours
Complete accident reports and investigate incidents as needed
Ensure all FM checklists are complete and daily progress reports submitted to CRM
Skills & Qualifications:
High school diploma or Equivalency
5+ years experience as superintendent leading in-house or subcontractor crews
10+ years of commercial roofing experience
OSHA 30 certified or the ability to acquire the certification within two months of hire
Proficiency with Microsoft office products
Spanish bilingual skills preferred
Knowledge of local area codes and regulations preferred
Ability to travel extensively
Experience in Coatings, Single Ply, Hot, Metal roofing systems a plus
Certa trained a plus
Working Conditions:
Work is primarily performed in outdoor weather conditions. Must be able to work in varied extreme weather conditions (extreme hot and extreme cold).
50-60% travel by car or plane.
Repetitive bending and stooping with occasional lifting up to 40 pounds is required. Operating heavy equipment and lifting heavy materials occasionally.
Repetitive finger/hand/forearm motion necessary for completing data entry. Ability to manipulate keyboards, telephone keypads, and other office equipment.
Talking and listening required for answering telephones and conversing personally with customers and staff. Manual dexterity required for accessing filing cabinets.
