Overview

The California Pan-Ethnic Health Network (CPEHN) is seeking a full-time Sacramento Regional Organizer. CPEHN is a statewide health policy organization focused on addressing racial and ethnic health disparities. CPEHN works closely with communities of color to elevate local voices and health issues to state and local policymakers. CPEHN supports communities of color in advancing policy change and structural reform that creates equitable conditions for their communities. This position must be based in the Sacramento County and is expected to be active in their local communities. CPEHN maintains physical offices in Oakland, Sacramento, and Los Angeles and has a hybrid work policy (air travel required). CPEHN has a mandatory up-to-date COVID-19 vaccine policy.

Key Job Duties

Implement strategies to build community power, mobilize individuals, and inspire collective action.

Plan and facilitate regional meetings; attend community meetings and events.

Build and maintain authentic relationships with other local organizers and community members.

Lead meetings with community partners in the Sacramento County.

Required Qualifications

At least 3 years of experience working in community organizing or outreach and engagement, preferably at a nonprofit or Community-Based Organization (CBO).

At least 3 years of experience working on issues related to communities of color.

Understanding of regional local politics, ex. Mayoral, Board of Supervisors, etc.

Strong political organizing experience with the ability to develop and implement strategic community engagement plans.

Demonstrated ability to mobilize communities regionally on various issues, particularly in health equity.

Have authentic relationships with base-building organizations or local CBOs working to address health equity.

Cultural humility and understanding of issues impacting all communities of color.

Preferred Skills

Excellent facilitator skills in planning in-person (and virtual) events and meetings.

Thrives in a fast-paced environment and can work independently with minimal supervision.

Ability to work within and across teams, title tiers, and offices.

Ability to collaborate with others for collective impact.

Compensation and Benefits $75,000 - $77,000. At CPEHN, we understand the importance of benefits and how they contribute to the overall well-being of our staff.
