Humblepod, Knoxville, TN, US, 37955
HumblePod is hiring a full-time Podcast Editor to join our team in Knoxville, TN . We’re a podcast production company with a reputation for industry excellence and attention to detail in production and execution. While we serve clients globally and collaborate with a distributed team, this role is hybrid and requires you to be based in Knoxville and in the office 3–5 days per week .
This role is for a process-driven editor who thrives on producing consistent, high-quality work by following established workflows. We already have SOPs, templates, and checklists in place—your job is to execute them reliably , communicate early when something could derail a deadline, and help us ship great work week after week.
You’ll edit long-form podcast episodes and create short-form cutdowns with strong hooks and clean pacing. You’ll also support in-studio sessions and occasional on-location recordings (light travel).
Occasional nights/weekends may be required to support time-sensitive client needs (not routine).
Light travel is required for occasional on-location recording support.
Responsibilities Edit 4–5 podcast episodes per week (depending on runtime/complexity), delivering a polished, publish-ready final.
Maintain quality and clarity: pacing, structure, audio cleanup, and clean video finishing.
Cut short-form clips optimized for viewer attention:
Develop a clear hook early
Captions formatted cleanly
Story beats that land a payoff
Quality control + SOP execution
Follow HumblePod’s existing editing SOPs, export presets, naming conventions, and QA checklists.
Maintain clean, consistent project organization and handoff-ready files.
Flag issues early (missing assets, bad audio, unclear direction) so deadlines don’t slip.
Publishing support
Upload and schedule podcast audio and video content in accordance with the production calendar and SOPs.
Confirm that the correct version and metadata are used before publishing.
Note: This role focuses on publishing the core podcast content itself (audio/video). Social media scheduling is not a primary responsibility.
Assist with in-studio recordings (basic setup support, media ingest, and project handoff).
Some light travel for occasional on-location client recordings as needed.
*Note: Having a valid passport is recommended for this role.

Working knowledge of audio cleanup/restoration tools like iZotope RX.
Professional understanding of at least one of the following DAWs: Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, or Logic Pro.

Reliable, collaborative communicator with good team rapport.
Preferred Skills Experience with captions workflows and template-based lower-thirds.
Experience working with mobile editing apps like Adobe Rush, CapCut, Captions, etc.
Experience working in a recording studio and/or with live sound.
Familiarity with Blackmagic Design gear/studio workflows.
Experience working with tech companies or startups.
Day-to-Day (What you’ll actually do) A typical day/week looks like:
Check ClickUp for priorities, deadlines, and notes.
Ingest footage/audio, prep the project according to SOP.
Cut and polish a long-form episode (pacing + clarity + cleanup).
Pull 2–6 potential clip moments; finish 1–3 clips with captions.
Run a QC pass (export settings, loudness/levels, captions, naming, versions) on an episode.
Upload/schedule audio/video releases per the production calendar.
Team updates: what shipped, what’s blocked, what needs review.
Some weeks include studio days or occasional travel days.
What success looks like Content ships on time and matches SOP standards
Deliverables are organized, correctly versioned, and QC’d
Short-form clips consistently start strong (hook) and feel intentional (story beats/payoff)
Long-form content (podcasts) starts strong and is professionally edited to the customer’s specs.
The team enjoys working with you (clear communication + steady follow-through)
Compensation This is a full-time salaried position. Pay range is $40,000 – $45,000.
