What we are looking for
We are seeking experienced Legal Assistants or Paralegals with a background in developing Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and/or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) claims to join our Hearings Department. Internally, this role is referred to as a Hearings Specialist. The Hearings Department plays a critical role in advocating for our clients and ensuring the best possible outcomes for their Social Security disability claims. The ideal candidate should have a working knowledge of SSDI and SSI and be skilled in drafting professional documents such as briefs and memorandums, with strong attention to detail and the ability to refine content for clarity and impact.
Responsibilities
Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with clients, medical providers, contracted Hearings Representatives, the Social Security Administration, and Administrative Law Judges to gather and convey essential information.
Analyze, evaluate, and order medical records to strengthen and support disability claims.
Draft pre‑hearing briefs (typically 2‑3 pages) that summarize the medical and factual evidence of a claim, using our proprietary brief‑writing tool for structure and content.
Prepare additional pre‑ or post‑hearing memorandums and documentation as required to support case development and adjudication.
Develop claims comprehensively, tailoring strategies to the unique facts and circumstances of each individual case.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure all necessary actions are completed, optimizing the likelihood of a favorable outcome for clients.
Our training provides comprehensive instruction on Social Security administrative law and regulations, supplemented by regular continuing education sessions.
Compensation
This is a salaried position with a base pay of $40,000 per year, with the potential to earn bonuses totaling $15,000–$40,000 per year, based on your performance. The target pay range for this position is $55,000–$80,000 per annum.
Work Hours and Location
This is a full‑time position with a Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM schedule. This is a work‑from‑home position, but you must be a resident of and currently reside in the state of Florida.
Qualifications
Minimum of 2+ years’ experience working in an SSDI or SSI representation firm, or in an equivalent capacity at the Social Security Administration (SSA) or Disability Determination Service (DDS). If you do not have SSDI or SSI experience, you must have significant experience in legal and/or medical research and brief writing (e.g., in a law firm, medical practice, insurance company)
Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to think critically to address client needs and challenges.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively engage with clients and internal teams.
Must be able to demonstrate the ability to write effectively and persuasively, with clear and organized communication. This includes crafting compelling arguments, presenting information clearly, and adapting tone and style to the audience.
Ability to type a minimum of 50 words per minute (typingtest.com can be used for self‑assessment).
Intermediate to advanced computer proficiency , including strong skills in internet research, multitasking, and efficiently navigating multiple systems and applications.
Possesses excellent interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and professional demeanor when communicating with clients over the phone.
A team player who works well as part of a team, and who is also self‑motivated and able to work with little supervision.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in an SSDI or SSDI representation firm, such as a law firm or non‑attorney representation firm.
College education preferred, but not required.
Experience in a legal firm preferred, but not required.
Technology Requirements
Employees are responsible for providing their own hardware and must be able to comply with Quikaid’s Technology Requirements. Quikaid does not provide any of the required hardware items listed below, but Quikaid will provide all necessary software needed to perform your job duties. Technology Requirements will be discussed further throughout the hiring process.
A computer that is running at least the latest version of Windows 10 or higher

Reliable, high‑speed cable or fiber internet service; cable or fiber internet is required, and the employee must connect to the modem via ethernet (wired connection). 5G and satellite home internet services are not permitted.
Battery UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) with at least 3 surge battery outlets
The computer, modem, and at least one monitor must be plugged into the battery‑backed outlets.
External keyboard, mouse, headset with microphone, and a working webcam
Approved modem (a modem list will be provided in initial reach out)
Ethernet cable (use of Wi‑Fi is not permitted)
Two 24" monitors (must be two separate monitors working independently of each other)

Additional Information
The start date for this position is February 18th, 2026. This date is non‑negotiable as training begins on that date.
The interview process includes an aptitude assessment and at least two rounds of video‑based interviews before receiving an offer.
Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check and drug test prior to the start date.
Technology Certification must be completed prior to the start date; hardware will be reviewed to ensure it meets requirements.
