Senior Counsel – Trusts & Estates

A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced
Senior Trusts & Estates Attorney
to advise clients on complex estate planning, trust and estate administration, business succession planning, and related tax matters. This role requires strong technical expertise, client management skills, and the ability to mentor and guide other attorneys.
Responsibilities
Provide advanced counsel on federal and state estate planning, tax planning, and business succession strategies
Manage all aspects of estate and trust administration, including probate, fiduciary compliance, and asset transfers
Conduct research and draft high-quality legal documents, plans, and analyses
Independently manage sophisticated client relationships
Lead, mentor, and support associate attorneys and staff
Present educational materials on developments in trusts and estates law
Delegate work appropriately and ensure timely, accurate completion
Maintain accurate timekeeping and operate with a high degree of autonomy
Qualifications
JD from an accredited law school
Admission in Maine (or ability to obtain)
7+ years of trusts & estates experience
Demonstrated mastery of estate planning, tax strategy, and administration
Strong leadership, communication, and mentorship skills
Ability to work collaboratively and professionally with clients and colleagues
