POSITION:

Estimator (Structural)

SHIFT:

Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

PAY RATE:

$61K to 70K+ (Depending on Experience) + Full Benefits Package

LOCATION:

Lubbock, TX (on-site)

Summary of Responsibilities Prepare cost estimates for product manufacturing, construction projects, or services to aid management in bidding on or determining price of product or service in the structural steel industry.

Essential Position Responsibilities

Complete material take-offs for structural and miscellaneous steel.

Working up and completing accurate estimates.

Review design drawings and specifications using discretion, best judgment and evaluation of industry standards and practices to minimize various possibilities of risk.

Coordinate with other estimators, sub contractors, and vendors to make sure that the full scope of a project is covered.

Entering and maintaining project information into sales software.

Research upcoming projects and aid in developing customer base.

Back up to project management department when needed.

Prompt and dependable attendance.

Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Qualities

Must have general computer experience along with experience using spreadsheet and word processing programs.

Ability to read and understand plans and specs.

Good communication skills.

Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.

Willingness to strive to get ahead or to finish projects.

Ability to recover from, or adjust to, misfortune or setbacks.

Ability to effectively build relationships with customers and co-workers.

Ability to be truthful and be seen as credible in the workplace.

Education and Work Experience

High School Diploma or GED required.

Associate’s Degree in Architectural Drafting and Estimating or equivalent experience in a related field.

Two to three years related experience.
