St. Louis Area Foodbank (SLAFB) General Description / Position Summary The St. Louis Area Foodbank is adding an Annual Fund Manager to our dynamic and growing Philanthropy team! The Annual Fund Manager is responsible for creating and implementing fundraising plans and activities that best support the St. Louis Area Foodbank's mission through growing meaningful direct mail campaigns, annual fund initiatives and sustainer giving program. The ideal candidate is passionate about relationship‑building, donor stewardship, and leveraging data to drive fundraising success.
Duties And Responsibilities
Develop and implement the annual fund strategy, including segmentation, messaging, and donor journeys.
Assist in the day‑to‑day management of direct marketing campaigns.
Collaborate with vendors, designers, and internal teams to produce thoughtful and practical annual fund and sustainer retention tactics and multi‑channel campaigns, including via direct mail, digital/paid acquisition, face‑to‑face, telemarketing, SMS, and email.
Manage deadlines and deliverables, track campaign performance and make data‑driven adjustments to achieve revenue targets.
Keep a pulse on the latest trends and innovations in individual fundraising and sustainer giving.
Play a key role in enhancing and supervising a thoughtful stewardship plan for Annual Fund donors, sustaining donors, and new donors.
Respond to donor inquiries and ensure a positive giving experience.
Contribute to other projects as required.
Qualifications
2‑5 years of experience working in a non‑profit/community impact Philanthropy department.
2‑5 years of experience coordinating an annual fund and monthly donor program.
Passion for the Foodbank mission and a desire to excel in philanthropy and fundraising work.
A demonstrated commitment to Social Responsibility.
Excellent organization and problem‑solving skills.
Proficient in Microsoft applications such as (but not limited to) Raiser's Edge or similar CRM, Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, etc.
Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail, handle interruptions, maintain focus on tasks and produce accurate work.
Effective communication skills (oral & written).
Ability to collect and analyze data to guide effective decision making.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must be able to successfully pass pre‑employment drug screening and criminal background checks.

With the dedicated partnership of nearly 600 hunger‑relief programs and local agencies – including soup kitchens, food pantries, shelters, and residential programs – we are responding to hunger in communities across 26 counties in Missouri and Illinois by distributing food to more than 400,000 people every year.

This nationwide network offers a variety of resources such as food, funds, best practices, and a larger voice for our work.
The SLAFB serves 26 counties – 14 in Missouri and 12 in Illinois – and is a member of Feeding Missouri and Feeding Illinois.
We collect, store, sort, and repack food from manufacturers, retailers, farmers, and donors, then distribute it to our partner agencies.
We facilitate the movement of food safely and efficiently and provide resources and support that small agencies cannot access alone.
