Join Rush Truck Centers as a Diesel Service Mechanic on the 2nd shift. Work with a large network of commercial vehicle dealerships, receive comprehensive training, and advance your career through a rewarding pay package and benefits. Responsibilities
Provide technical service to diesel vehicles and equipment. Perform general and detailed repairs of all trucks, engines, and components. Overhaul gasoline or diesel engines. Install injectors, pistons, liners, camshafts, cylinder heads, rods, and main bearings, oil pans, clutches, fan hubs, differentials, fifth wheels, brakes, and change or recharge batteries; replace transmissions and other parts. Read job orders, observe and listen to vehicles in operation to determine malfunctions and plan work procedures. Examine protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks, and make adjustments as needed. Lubricate moving parts and drive repaired vehicles to verify conformance to specifications. Tag all warranty parts and return them to the warranty clerk. Attend training classes and keep abreast of factory technical bulletins. Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers to increase overall customer satisfaction. Qualifications
High school diploma or GED. 5 years’ experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility. Valid driver license (CDL preferred). Peterbilt, International, Ford, Hino, Isuzu, Cummins, and/ or ASE certifications are preferred and rewarded. Benefits
